The Cup

About Your Favorite Coffee Cup

“Hmmm…The Cup!” I know this may sound a little childish and crazy. Although it’s a lot like Christmas for me when I pull out my favorite coffee cup out of the cupboard.

Don’t get me wrong, not every day do I pull out my favorite coffee cup or should I say… Mug. I do have my usual ones that I use daily for work in the morning. Even those, I cherish very much when it comes to waking up and having my first sip of java.

I found that it really does matter on what kind of coffee mug you use depending even on the weather.

I have my usual coffee mug that is thick and clear. I find it so fun and unique to poor in the coffee and then add some sugar, then my favorite part… Adding the cream as it hits the bottom of the coffee mug and watch it explode throughout the coffee. Isn’t it funny how the little things with coffee can just make your day?

My second runner up in coffee mugs is a tie. It’s between my ceramic tan mug with a dark inside, and my seashore style ceramic mug with a very light colored outside, and sea creatures all around it.

During the spring and summer time I find that my thin seashore mug is perfect.
It does cool down quicker than most of my other mugs, but not to quick to finish off a full cup of coffee pleasantly.

My tan mug is perfect for all seasons. Winter, summer, you name it. It’s thick enough to keep the coffee warm for a good period of time during the wintertime, not to mention keeping the hands toasty too! I find it also very useful during the summer when you have the AC running on a hot day, but the coffee stays warm for a while. Not only that, it’s just a perfect hand mug. To wrap your hands around while you sit and chit chat with family and friends.

Well… Now that you know a few of my favorite mugs. I think you get the idea, right?

The mug is all about the person and the uses for that mug in whatever environment you may be in. Many people are on the go, so that goes into different kind of travel mugs. I have my favorites in that area too. But, I’m not going to bore you with all of that at this point.

The important thing to remember is not all coffee mugs last forever. Unfortunately, sometimes you will have a mug that breaks.

Accidently slipping out of hand while cleaning, moving it from cabinet to counter top. Or… If you have children, who just want to fit in and use your mug to.

Yes, it does happen.
Your first reaction is like, “Oh no! My precious…”
Then reality sinks in. It’s gone…
Take in mind! This can be a good thing.
Now you can, not only take your child out for a new mug to show them the beauty of coffee drinking. But, you can also pick yourself out a new mug.

Just remember. Not all mugs have to cost a lot of money.
I have found that many of my favorite coffee mugs have all been purchased from a discount store for less than three dollars. So go there first. You might be surprised.
I will admit my seashore mug was a gift, that is the other beauty of a mug.

Giving a coffee mug as a gift is always a wonderful thing, especially to a coffee drinker, tea drinker or even a hot coco drinker. You can’t go wrong.

In closing on this subject. Pick out the coffee mug or travel mug that fits you. Not just in holding and for the environment you may be working or relaxing in. But pick it for the color, the style.
After all you will be looking at it day in and night out. So why  not make it useful and unique for your favorite cup of java.
